2016 National Championship Discounts: MTBA provide discounted entry into the 2017 GE National Championships for the top three (1st – 3rd) eligible riders in each recognised category of the previous championship. Riders may claim their discount when completing an online entry for the 2017 GE National Championships by entering their MTBA Membership Number in the ‘promotional code’ field during the online entry process. Please note: It is the entrants’ responsibility to claim their discount at the time of entering. MTBA will not issue refunds for riders who fail to validate their promotion code when entering.

Membership Requirements: To register and participate in this event, riders must hold a valid MTBA Membership at the time of registering.  Please note: Membership must be valid on the date of the event for which you are registering. If your membership expires before the date of the event, you must renew your membership before entering this event. MTBA Recreation Members may upgrade to a Race Membership at anytime through the MTBA Online Services System or opt to purchase a discounted Race Day Licence Upgrade.

The Adelaide Festival of Dirt is a 3 day mountain bike festival. Running from 20th – 22nd October, the festival is host to the Gravity Enduro National Champs as well as a number of other bike related events!

Escapegoat Adventures Night Trail Ride

Come and enjoy a very rare opportunity to ride Fox Creek at night with your mates.  What an awesome way to kick off the Festival of Dirt!

When: October 20th.
Time: 6.45pm for 7pm start; finish between 9.30 & 10pm.

What do I need to bring: Bike in reasonable condition, helmet, suitable lights for 3 hours of riding (a backup headlight is recommended), water, snacks, spare tube and any other spares/ tools for your bike.

The ride will be at a medium pace so riders should be of reasonable fitness to ride 20 + km over mixed terrain on mostly single track for roughly 21/2 hours.

Trailscapes Open Dual Slalom

You could say this is the main event! This race will determine who will be the first EVER King and Queen of the Adelaide Festival of Dirt Dual Slalom! Compete against your mates in a knockout style race to see who will take home the crowns. This event is open for all riders. DJ on the decks & awesome prizes to be won.

When: October 21st.
Where: Forest opposite Anderson Hill Winery, Fox Creek.

What do I need to bring: Bike & full face helmet.

Head for the Hills Double Down

Coaching, shuttles and timed runs – All in the name of creating faster and smarter riders! Head for the Hills’ Double Down at the Adelaide Festival of Dirt will give riders an opportunity to develop skills and track their improvements with timed runs at Fox Creek in the Adelaide Hills.

Riders will be coached to analyse and improve their performance by isolating and practicing the key skills used in descending, helping to enhance their stability, control, execution and overall speed. Shuttles and course timing will be provided by the Inside Line Downhill Mountain Bike Club and the coaching will be led by Tyson Schmidt from Head for the Hills Cycling.

When: October 22nd.
Where: Meet at the Green Smoothie car park on Croft Road, Lenswood (near Anderson Hill Winery)
Time: 8.30 am for 9 am start; anticipated finish between 12-12.30pm.

What do I need to bring: Bike, full face helmet; Recommended: gloves, shin pads, elbow pads

Shuttle services will be available during scheduled practice sessions provided by Escapegoat Adventures for $25 per person for a 3-hour block.
Sessions times are as follows:
Friday 20th – 10am – 1pm
Friday 20th 1pm – 4pm
Saturday 21st 8:30am – 11:30am

The 2017 MTBA Gravity Enduro National Championships is registered as an official EWS Qualifying Series event. In order to collect EWS Series Qualifier Points, riders must be EMBA members. EMBA membership must be obtained prior to racing, points will not be awarded retrospectively post-event. Information in EMBA membership can be found here: www.enduroworldseries.com/emba-membership
