Cairns to host UCI Mountain Bike World Cup events

Queensland has secured two major international mountain bike events to be held in Cairns in 2014 and 2016. Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games Minister Jann Stuckey congratulated Cycling Australia on its bid for the UCI Mountain Bike World Cups and said the events would leave an important tourism and events legacy for Tropical North Queensland.

UCI World Championships Team Manager wanted

MTBA is seeking the services of a highly qualified person to take on a role of Team Manager for the 2014 and 2015 World Championships. The successful applicant will be required to take on the role as Assistant Team Manager at the 2013 World Championships.

Cycling Australia reviews EDP

Cycling Australia (CA) today confirmed that it will undertake a review of Mountain Bike Australia's (MTBA) Elite Development Program (EDP) in order to ensure that its affiliate MTBA is conducting the EDP in a manner that is best-practice and is broadly conforming to the strategies and objectives stated in the recently announced Australia’s Winning Edge (AWE) from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
