The workshop included guided instruction on specific mountain bike skills such as pedalling technique, gear selection, braking, balancing, cornering, obstacles, descending and ascending. And if that wasn’t enough there were 2 separate information sessions, the first on bike maintenance and women’s specific bike set-up information which was conducted by Matthew Simonelli of Planet Femme. The second session was on fitness, nutrition and training for mountain bike riding.
“The feedback we have received from the ladies who attended the workshop has been very positive and overwhelming. All agreed that they would highly recommend the workshop to their friends. The only criticism, if you can call it that, was they would have enjoyed even MORE time on the bikes to practice their new found skills.” Donna said.
Such is the response that PCS have plans to conduct more of these women’s specific workshops in 2012. The workshops are for female mountain bikers who want to improve their existing skills, learn new skills, network and have fun with other female riders in a supportive environment and rub shoulders with legends of the sport.
