Under 19 Development

MTBA U19 XCO PROGRAM

Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) is pleased to announce that it will be establishing a program for Under 19 XCO with the goals to prepare athletes for World Championships, assess and develop physiological and skill capacity, as well as monitor progress in fitness and technical skills. Under 17 riders who have demonstrated potential with exception performance at national level events may also be invited to participate in the program.

Athletes will also be provided tools to predict performance at international level and provided information on recovery, nutrition and psychological & training interventions to improve performance.

The program for 2017 is well underway and will culminate in the MTB World Championships in Cairns Sept 5-10.

The program for 2018 will be expanded to include full programs for XCO, DHI, CX and Gravity Enduro. Full details will be released in October.
