The President's primary responsibility is to ensure the Management Committee carries out its governance role in an efficient manner, and oversees the proper functioning of a properly informed Committee.

The Vice President's primary role is to assist the President and to take on the roles and responsibilities of the President in his/her absence.

The Treasurer is responsible for providing financial transparency and accountability to the Management Committee, and for ensuring that processing and reporting requirements are met. The treasurer also provides an assurance of the ongoing financial viability of MTBA to the Committee.

The secretary's primary role is to take general responsibility for certain administrative tasks which the Management Committee is required to carry out. As well as bearing all the general responsibilities of being a member of the Management Committee, there are several tasks for which the Secretary is responsible. Many of these are the practical administrative duties that may be done by the Executive Officer.

The public officer is the only office bearer covered in detail in the Associations Incorporation Act. It is an offense not to notify the ACT Registrar General that the Public Officer has changed, within one month of the appointment. It is also an offense if the public officer fails to notify the Registrar General of his or her change of address within one month.

This position acts as a conduit of information between MTBA and Cycling Australia. The position is predicated upon the incumbent's acceptance onto the Cycling Australia Board.
